There is one full bathroom with a walk in shower in each cabin. Our bathrooms are stocked with white fluffy towels, top quality liquid hand soap, body wash, shampoo and conditioner. There is also a hair dryer.

For added comfort, you'll find an additional heater in the bathroom.  During cold months we recommend setting the heat to medium and keeping the bathroom door closed.

OUTDOOR AMENITIES

Outdoor Grill

There is a charcoal grill located by the front door. You will need to supply your own charcoal. You’ll find long handled grilling tools in the kitchen.

Please move the grill away from the house and propane tanks before using. Please clean the grate after using it by wadding a piece of foil up and running it over the cooking surface before putting it back. We’d appreciate it if, when done you’d place the cover back on and place it back by the house.

Fire Pit

Durning summer, there are small fire pits near each cabin. During winter, yards are not shoveled and may not be accessible. You’ll find firewood by the utility building on a rack. Please cover the wood back up when done.

Fire pit rules:

  • No more than 3 logs at a time.
  • NEVER leave a fire unattended.
  • Always put the fire out with the garden hose located on the side of each cabin. Turn off the hose at the hose bib when done!

HEATING AND COOLING

WINTER

Our cabins are well insulated. You’ll find a propane heater on the wall to the left of the kitchen. Feel free to adjust the temperature to your comfort level. We do ask that you help us keep the bills down by lowering the temperature to 65 when you leave for the day and down to 63 degrees when you check out.

The bathroom has an additional baseboard heater to keep the room toasty.  We recommend keeping the door shut and setting the temperature by turning the knob on the front of the baseboard heater.

FIREPLACE

There is an electric LED fireplace on the wall in the living area.  It's for decorative and ambiance purposes. Use the flame button on the remote to adjust the flame and fire color.

SUMMER

Our cabins are air conditioned.  You'll find the mini-split remote control on the wall to the left of the kitchen.  To turn on, use the red button to set the temperature up or down.

Open the windows and bring the cool air in! Vermont is wonderfully cool at night!

TOWNS OF CAVENDISH AND LUDLOW

Grocery

Singleton’s, Market which we highly recommend you visit at least once if you’re a foodie, is located a few miles down on 131 heading towards Ludlow. They have fantastic smoked and marinated meats, small produce section and basic groceries as well as liquor. Locals always boast you can buys your guns, liquor, food and more at Singletons. They even have a small upscale clothing dept.

Shaws Market in Ludlow was heavily affected by last summer's flood.  They are open for online ordering and pick up only at this time.  They will reopen around July 4th.
